By telling my story, I am telling the story of God’s love, His grace, His all consuming power. His patience and love in my life. This is what this place is. This is what Pursuer of Holiness is. It is the story of my journey in life, my up and downs, and who God is through it all.
I write to make since of it all. I write in my weakness and I write through my weakness. I write because God’s power is made perfect in weakness, my weakness, your weakness. This is my journey of God draining me dry. Perching my soul, and tearing away my flesh. It hurts. Its hard. I have begged him to stop, I have asked him for easier ways, but He keeps tearing me, keep emptying me. How else is He going to fill me with Him?
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
I love stories. I love reading them. I love writing them. I even love smelling them.
Yet God’s story is the most wonderful, the most mysterious. It is so beyond us, that we will never understand it fully. To think, He invites us to take a part of it. He places us in his story, and He asks us to worship Him through our stories. That’s why we are here, that’s why I am here.
I invite you to share with me. To share your stories, to proclaim with me who God is. To explore with me that fathomless depths of God.
Our lives, why we are here on this earth, is to glorify God. Whatever we do, in all aspects of life, we are to bring Him praise. This is the second portion of what this place is.
It is simply life.
How we worship, how we work, how we play, how we relate to others, even how we eat and drink, is how we bring God glory.
Paul commends us to,” Rather you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
I love food. In fact when I heard a theologian talking about how in Kingdom of God, there will be eating and drinking, I gave a great shout of joy,” YEAH FOOD!!” (I was in the car, with my mother, you can’t judge me.)
God gave us the gift of food, of good wholesome food. Food brings people together. Food plays a important part in our faith as well. In the Old Testament, the blood of animals brought atonement for sins. Before the Israelites exited Egypt, they ate the Passover, symbolizing that God caused the angel of death to pass over them. Jesus used food in miracles and He often ate and drank with many people. It was the night which Jesus was betrayed that he shared a meal with His disciples, and where the first Communion took place. The breaking of bread with the Brothers.
Yet because of the broken state of our world, we have abused food, and have misused it greatly. We have misused God’s wonderful world, and as Christians we should be stewards of it. This is why I will be talking about healthy eating, and healthy stewardship, as much as Spiritual growth.
May the Road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

To God be the Glory
